Jewellery Series

Dream State #1 is the first work in an ongoing jewelry and art collection titled Dream State. The series explores how memories, traditions, and collective experiences can be transformed and translated into new forms. The starting point for Dream State #1 is the wedding dress — a garment charged with expectations, social norms, and personal stories — together with other materials that have already been used and carry memories. By transforming these into jewelry, the work asks how inherited narratives can be untangled, reimagined, and rewritten through artistic practice. For centuries, the wedding dress has symbolized a woman’s role in marriage: purity, devotion, possession. It is not merely clothing but a marker of patriarchal power structures. At the same time, it carries personal layers — joy, intimacy, but also pressure, silence, and conformity. In the dream state, we hold not only our own experiences but also the memories of mothers, grandmothers, friends, and entire communities. These collective archives are woven into fabrics and rituals. Dream State brings them into view and opens them to transformation. By cutting, reworking, and turning the wedding dress into jewelry, its traditional symbolism of submission is undone. In its place emerge signs of self-determination, strength, and freedom. Through jewelry — an intimate medium worn on the body — this feminist revaluation is placed in direct relationship with the wearer’s body.
