About Mia Maljojoki
“You are exactly where you need to be. Jewelry is an emotion that can be worn on the body, be hung on the wall, or hidden in a box. Born from everyday experiences, jewelry is a powerful form of social interaction made solid. When worn, it expresses identity, experience, intention and preference.”
Mia Maljojoki’s work begins with the body—whether through casts of physical forms or emotional impressions—translating these into “reflections” shaped from plaster, pigments, wood, or porcelain. Designed to be worn, her pieces create dialogue between wearer and viewer. She also explores jewelry through experimental performances, where movement brings each work’s story to life.
